A new patch for Way of the Hunter is now available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. For quite some time, herd genetics weren’t behaving the way they should; even careful management didn’t really pay off. That’s been sorted out in today’s patch. Herd genetics should now respond properly to your management again, and habitats should be working as intended.
We’re really sorry for the inconvenience this caused. We know this issue has been frustrating, and we appreciate everyone who took the time to report it and stick with us.

We are aware that a few additional issues still need attention. We are currently planning one more patch for Way of the Hunter, addressing bugs reported by the community. If you run into any issues, the single best place to report them is the THQ Nordic Redmine - thanks!
