Meet Matej, one of our QA Engineers at Nine Rocks Games! His mission is to ensure that all the newly implemented features, animals, and mechanics in the Way of the Hunter work seamlessly, providing you with the best gaming experience possible. While he might have a different background in web development, Matej has found his passion in game testing and delivering top-notch quality to our players. His daily tasks involve testing various features and mechanics, such as achievements and animal behaviors. Despite some tasks being more enjoyable than others, he dedicates himself to ensuring a smooth and enjoyable gaming experience for all.
What hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?
I like low-cost traveling and backpacking on a train or bikes with a couple of buddies. We have a yearly tradition to visit microbreweries around the country and document it on our Instagram account - BeerTrip. Other than that I like to build stuff and tinker with electronics.
Do you have any life motto?
"Be the change you want to see in the world," but generally I practice: "Don’t postpone work till tomorrow… Postpone it till the day after tomorrow and you have gained two free days!"

Beyond WOTH, Matej is also a co-founder of the Mad Cookies studio, spreading his enthusiasm for game development. Their very first creation, the charming game Cardbob, is just about to hit the world. With his creative spirit and love for the gaming community, Matej brings joy and excitement to both of his roles.
What would your perfect weekend look like?
Spend the Friday night with friends over a couple of beers. Saturday morning wake up without a hangover and go for a good brunch and a hike or a bike ride. Play some games or watch a movie with my wife in the evening and then just sleep through the Sunday.
What's your favorite game genre to play, and why?
I love old and retro games, preferably strategies. I enjoy playing Heroes of Might and Magic III or Age of Empires II. I also like to occasionally play a bit of Fortnite with my friends. And when we get together we dust off the old N64 and play a round of Mario Party like we used to do 20 years ago.
If you could design your own video game, what kind of game would it be and what would the gameplay mechanics be like?
I would either do a fun simple couch co-op game with retro vibes like Towerfall or some massive complex sandbox game like Kerbal Space Program but as an MMORPG.
What would you like to achieve at NRG?
I'd like to get some kind of personal easter-egg or cameo included in the game that I could point out to my friends.
