It's been a while since our last Hunter Log. We've been incredibly busy with updates and new content, there is so much to catch up on. So, grab a seat, settle in, and let’s review the previous updates, news, and what's on the horizon.

Updates and New DLCs

The latest major update was the Remington Firearms Pack DLC, featuring three new rifles and a shotgun. Hunters wanted new weapons, so we delivered. With this DLC, you can choose from four brand-new Remington Firearms products. Check out more details here.

This update also addressed localization issues, disappearing taxidermy stands, and occasional issues with animal spawns. Thanks to your quick reports, we promptly fixed additional bugs soon after the release – you can find patch notes here.

We’ve worked hard on new updates and DLCs, though we know not everything hit the mark. The Outfits Pack DLC includes five new outfits, one for each character. We wanted to provide character customization for the players who wanted it. While the Outfits Pack wasn’t as popular as we hoped, we didn’t spend months solely on it.

With the same update, we introduced a free update packed with features that received the feedback we expected. It includes:

New female taxidermy options
The ability to toggle variable zoom on binoculars
Several new parking spots across Nez Perce Valley and Transylvania, and more...

The zoomable binoculars were an instant hit, fulfilling a much-requested community feature. We also enhanced the Sika deer model and added new female taxidermy options, letting you display more of your favorite trophies.

With update 1.25.2, we've improved the Sika deer model to better match its real-life counterpart.

Community Spotlight

Our community never ceases to amaze us! A dedicated group of fans - HarpyEaglesBR from Brazil have crafted a PT-BR localization mod for the PC version of Way of the Hunter. They've poured their heart and soul into ensuring our Portuguese and Brazilian players can enjoy the game in their native language. You can try out the mod HERE. Instructions are below the post, and installing and trying the mod is easy. If you’re already enjoying the localization, you can drop the feedback in their latest survey to help make it even better.

Speaking of the great community helping tools, a hunter, SlothRage on Discord, has been putting a ton of effort into creating an encyclopedia website for Way of the Hunter, making it an awesome resource for fellow hunters. It looks fantastic so far, but he needs help gathering photos. Gathering images takes time unless they have a community effort, so if you’ve got a minute and can help him, do so HERE.

Easter Gallery Challenge: And the Winner Is...

Easter was a blast with our Easter Gallery Challenge. We asked you to capture the best screenshot that reminded us of the festive mood, bunnies, and basically anything that reminds you of Easter. The community voted for the best entries, and the winner is Joshua with his stunning screenshot from Transylvania. Congratulations! And thank you, everyone, for participating – it was a lot of fun.

Joshua's image received the most votes, making it the winner of the Easter Gallery 2024 competition.

Close behind was Sorsanpoika[FIN] in second place – the voters sure have a sense of humor!

In third place was Novel with his lovely shot of a rabbit.

NRG’s 4th Anniversary

Happy birthday to us! NRG celebrated the 4th anniversary with a BBQ party on our balcony. It’s always good to take a short break from work, fuel up, and return even stronger. Here’s to many more years of making great games together.

Our team rolled up their sleeves and got to work as part of our annual "Naše Mesto" (Our Town) volunteering activity. We painted training obstacles, groomed the training area, mowed, and improved the dog playground. It was a lot of work, but we got it done! The animals were happy, and we even got a well-deserved high five. Giving something back is always a great feeling, and this year was no different.

We also attended the annual Czech game dev conference, Game Access, in Brno. We had a blast presenting Way of the Hunter to the local communities and other developers. Sharing a booth with our sister studio, Ashborne Games, improved the experience. Thanks to Dell for providing the Alienware laptop and all the needed gear. We had an absolute blast and can’t wait to see you again next year.

What’s Next?

We wish we could spill all the details about what's coming, but we must keep some secrets until everything's ready. For now, we can share that our main focus is on delivering a new DLC map -which is coming this summer. We're also working on a little enhancement update before the map, with some bug fixes and more. And who knows, maybe we’ll throw in an additional fun DLC feature, too, just to keep things interesting. Stay tuned!
